Shalom, At age 62 I was introduced to the Episcopal Church thanks to Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori's devotional book, "A Wing and a Prayer", which I read after hearing her interviewed by Bill Moyers. What impressed me in that interview, within the pages of her book, and during her sermon at St. James; plus her worldwide sermons posted on: http://www.episcopalchurch.org/78703_ENG_HTM.htm?menupage=48539 are her candid, straight-forward, respectful, humble and courageous outward expressions of Jesus' infinite Love, and her call to us to engage in faith-filled Action, to empower and heal ALL of God's creation. Thank you, Bishop Katharine, for your clear vision; thank you St. James for a most beautiful and moving service, whose music, words, color and splendor will remain in my heart forever. Thank you, St. Paul's Cathedral for becoming my inviting home parish, when I am in San Diego. With respect, Grace van Thillo

St. James by-the-Sea
What a thrilling day! I was proud to be an Episcopalian, and proud to be a part of St. James by-the-Sea.
It was wonderful to see the children and youth of our congregation interact and be inspired by Bishop Katharine!
